CEO and President
Mark J. Peters, MD, CPE, has served as President and Chief Executive Officer at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, Louisiana, since 2002.
Dr. Peters joined East Jefferson General Hospital in 2000 as Senior Vice President/ Medical Director. He had previously been Chief Medical Officer/Vice President of Medical Services at Upper Valley Medical Center, a not-for profit healthcare system in Troy, Ohio. Dr. Peters received his medical degree from Ohio State University in 1978 and served as Chief Resident during his Family Practice Residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He is also a member of American College of Physician Executives, achieving his certification in 1999.
Dr. Peters served as the Chairman of the Metropolitan Hospital Council of New Orleans in 2005 and 2006. He has also served as a board member of the Louisiana Hospital Association from 2006 to 2008. Dr. Peters also lends his healthcare expertise as a board member of the Jefferson Economic Development Corporation (JEDCO) and Greater New Orleans, Inc. (GNO Inc.). He has served as honorary chairman for both the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society to support medical research in our community.
Dr. Peters is a leading advocate of healthcare reform in Louisiana, having served as Chairman of the Coalition of Leaders for Louisiana Healthcare (COLLAH), developing a healthcare reform plan for the greater New Orleans Region. He continues his work with local, state and federal officials to meet the healthcare needs of our region. |
Executive Vice President
Ben B. Frank, Jr., Executive Vice President for East Jefferson General Hospital, leads hospital operations, business development, and financial management. A native New Orleanian, Frank most recently served as Chief Operating Officer for Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and was previously Chief Executive Officer for Central Arkansas Health System. He earned his Master of Health Administration from Tulane University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration from the University of Alabama. |
Chief Financial Officer
Judy Brown is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for East Jefferson General Hospital. In her role, Judy oversees the Financial Divisions of the hospital, including such areas as Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis and Patient Financial Services. In addition to guiding the financial services division, Judy also leads critical areas of the hospital operations such as Information Technology, Environmental Services and Dietary Services. She holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from Trinity University and a Bachelor of Art in Accounting from the University of Texas. |
Chief Nurse Executive
Janice Kishner is the Chief Nursing Officer for East Jefferson General Hospital and leads a nationally recognized nursing staff. Janice was the instrumental leader for East Jefferson as the institution became Louisiana's first Nurse Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 2002 and the first in the state to be re-accredited in 2006. With over 25 years of service to East Jefferson, she is also dedicated to community service and continuing education. Janice received her nursing degree from Dawson College and holds a Master in Nursing from Loyola University. Janice was named the 2010 Nurse Administrator of the Year from the Louisiana Nurses Association. |
Medical Director
Dr. Raymond DeCorte is Medical Director for East Jefferson General Hospital and has been on staff for almost 20 years. During that time, Dr. DeCorte served as EJGH Chief of Staff in 1997, and has also held multiple leadership roles. He works along side the hospital's medical staff that totals over 650 physicians representing almost every medical specialty. In addition to working with the medical staff, Dr. DeCorte has been instrumental in clinical effectiveness, patient safety initiatives and the transitioning toward electronic health records. Dr. DeCorte is a Board Certified General Surgeon and is a graduate of LSU Medical School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of South Alabama Medical Center. |

Sidney "Beau" Raymond, M.D. |
Chief of Staff
Dr. Beau Raymond is the Chief of Staff and works closely with the Medical Director of East Jefferson General Hospital. Dr. Raymond leads the over 650-member medical staff and is the representative between the physicians and EJGH. He oversees such areas as physician clinical operations, emergency preparedness and serves as the chief communicator on all issues involving the medical staff. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the LSU School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at the LSU Medical Center. |
