The Podiatry Residency Program welcomed its first resident in 1989. From inception, 100% of the residents have successfully graduated from the program and successfully passed board-qualifying exams. The Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) has approved the program as a PM&S 36. For the first two years of the three-year program, much of the training is hospital based. Residents spend time in private podiatry practices where patient care management and office management experience is obtained. The residents are exposed to many podiatric and non-podiatric teaching faculties to draw on a wide variety of clinical and surgical experiences. General Information:The Podiatric Medicine Residency along with Family Medicine Residency are the only residency programs at East Jefferson General Hospital and are non-competing. The EJGH Emergency Department is one of the busiest in Louisiana. One resident position for each post-graduate year. Pay Scale:
In-House On Call:Rotating in-house call schedule Paid Time Off:3 weeks annually for PGY-I, 4 weeks annually for PGY-II and PGY-III. Residents follow holiday schedule of EJGH team members. Other Benefits:
