Donation to The Foundation Renovates Labor and Delivery Waiting Room

It was the expert and compassionate care of Dr. Robin Bone, OB/GYN and the nurses and staff of 4 East that recently inspired a couple (who wish to remain anonymous) to make a donation to The Foundation at EJGH when their first child, a beautiful daughter, was born.

The couple's only wish when making their gift was that Dr. Bone, with whom they had entrusted to make the best possible healthcare decisions for mother and child, help direct the use of their gift so that it would have the greatest impact for other patients and their families.

Robin Bone, M.D.Dr. Bone, in consultation with hospital administration and the leadership of Woman & Child Services, chose to renovate the Labor and Delivery waiting room. This waiting room is the area where friends and family anxiously await the arrival of a new addition. As anyone who has waited for that big moment can attest to, hours can seem like days and a spacious, comfortable and soothing environment is just what is needed as you wait for the great news.

The renovated Labor and Delivery Waiting Room has all new furniture and a brand new look for the thousands of people throughout the year who call this area "home" for a little while. So far, the area has been well received by families, guests and staff.

"At EJGH we care deeply about the care of not only our patients, but their families as well. This new space provides a warm and comfortable space where friends and family can gather together and visit," says Dr. Bone. "I am honored to have been the inspiration for this generous gift that will have a lasting impact on our patients and guests for years to come."
