Sean Collins, M.D.

Dr. Collins was a driving force in East Jefferson General Hospital's acquisition of a da Vinci Surgical Robot. His Fellowship work at Columbia University Hospital in New York City had convinced him that robotic prostatectomy was becoming the gold-standard in care that effectively treated the cancer while limiting the negative side effects that were so prevalent with other treatments. Today, his foresight has been rewarded with the EJ Center for Urology being a national leader in prostatectomy outcomes. As Medical Director of EJGH Robotic Surgical Division, Dr. Collins is helping establish the hospital as a leading resource in minimally invasive procedures both in urology and in other areas as well.

MD Anderson Affiliation

In 2008, Dr. Collins became one of the first physicians at EJGH, and in Louisiana, to earn membership in the MD Anderson Cancer Network. This honor is earned through verifying the excellence of your current standards of care but also by demonstrating a commitment to continued progress and excellence. Staff

The East Jefferson Center for Urology staff consists of a dedicated group of professionals who aid in the daily operations of the department. They set up appointments, assist in procedures, and help the patients as they move through the process of being treated for a variety of urologic conditions.
