The physicians of East Jefferson Cardiovascular Specialists are proud of their reputation in the community for their expertise in Cardiac Interventional Medicine as well as their patient/physician relations. Each patient's care is developed around the individual patients' needs.

Gregory D. Tilton, MD, FACC

Gregory Dupuy Tilton is a graduate of Louisiana State Health Science Center in New Orleans, He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in cardiology at the University of Texas Southwestern associated with Parkland Hospital in Dallas. He has achieved board certification in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, and Endovascular Medicine (medical and interventional treatment of peripheral vascular disease). In addition to being a reviewer for the Journal of the American College of cardiology and Circulation, he has been an invited editorialist for the Journal of the American College of Cardiology and the principal and assistant investigator on numerous research projects published in peer reviewed journals.

Clement C. Eiswirth, Jr., MD

Clement C. Eiswirth, Jr. earned a bachelor degree in Engineering followed by a doctorate in Medicine at Tulane University where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha home Medical Society. He completed his training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Ochsner Foundation Hospital servings as President of the Fellowship Association. This was followed by a Fellowship in Cardiac Transplantation and Congestive Heart Failure at the University of Utah. He returned to Ochsner as the 1st Director of Cardiac Transplantation and Congestive Heart Failure and founded the Advanced Cardiovascular Therapy clinic before coming to East Jefferson Hospital. He also served as the acting Director of the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic and Cardiac Transplant Program at the Tulane University School of Medicine. He is board Certified by the American Board of Medicine in the fields of Internal Medicine as well as Cardiovascular Disease. He holds additional boards by the National Board of Echocardiography. He is a fellow in the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography and a member of the American Heart Association, member of the Council on Clinical Cardiology and the Heart Failure Society of America. As a member of the staff of East Jefferson General Hospital he has served in various capacities of the Medical Staff Executive Board, Chief of the Medical Staff, and served as a member of the Board of East Jefferson General Hospital.

Dr. Eiswirth serves on the staff as a non-invasive and invasive cardiologist whose practice is open to new patients seeking evaluation, modification and treatment of various cardiovascular risk factors and diseases. His focus includes the treatment of coronary artery disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, congestive heart failure and pulmonary hypertension.

Nicholas D. Pappas, MD

Nicholas D. Pappas is a graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Ochsner Foundation Hospital and Clinic. Dr. Pappas is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and further board certified in Internal Medicine, Subspecialty of Cardiovascular Disease.

Roland J. Bourgeois, Jr., MD, FACC

Roland J. Bourgeois is a graduate of Louisiana State University, School of Medicine. He completed is fellowship in Cardiology at Ochsner Foundation and Hospital. Dr. Bourgeois is board certified in Internal Medicine, board certified in Internal Medicine, Subspecialty in Cardiovascular Disease. He is also, credited by the Board of Internal Medicine with qualifications in Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Bourgeois is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He has also, proudly served as Chief of Staff for East Jefferson General Hospital.

Lois Mailander, MD, FACC

Lois Mailander is a graduate of University of Monterrey, Monterrey, Mexico with additional clinical training State University of New York at Stoney Brook. She completed her fellowship at Ochsner Foundation and Hospital. Dr. Mailander is board certified in Internal Medicine, board certified in Internal Medicine, Subspecialty in Cardiovascular Disease.

Orlando Deffer, MD, FACC

Orlando Deffer is a graduate of Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriques Urena, Santo Domonican, Republic. He completed his fellowship at Tulane University School of Medicine. Dr. Deffer is board certified in Internal Medicine, Subspecialty in Cardiovascular Disease and the Subspecialty Board of Nuclear Cardiology. Additionally, he has Advanced Training in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Imaging. Dr. Deffer is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Staff
