Only at East Jefferson General Hospital can you see masks used during the Lion King Broadway show. These beautiful masks were crafted and specially designed by the artists at Disney exclusively for the production. EJGH has placed these five masks of the title characters in the display section of the Sunshine Boutique on the first floor of the hospital Atrium and will be on display from February 9 – 24. The public is encouraged to come by to see the masks and read the stories about how they were created.

While visiting the display, everyone is also encouraged to enter the contest to win two tickets to the Lion King in March. The Lion King Broadway production will be at the Mahalia Jackson Theater from March 14 – April 15 and has earned national acclaim for its beautiful pageantry, sound and set design and elite level performers. Marvel at the breathtaking spectacle of animals brought to life by award-winning director Julie Taymor, whose visual images for this show you'll remember forever. Thrill to the pulsating rhythms of the African Pridelands and an unforgettable score including Elton John and Tim Rice's Oscar®-winning song "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" and "Circle of Life." Let your imagination run wild at the Tony Award®-winning Broadway sensation Newsweek calls "a landmark event in entertainment."

"We are tremendously excited to have this world-class exhibit at East Jefferson," says John Sartori, EJGH Director of Marketing/Communications. "We think the reaction to these masks will be spectacular. As a hospital, our goal is to be active participants in the community. One way we can accomplish this is to support the arts and help make it available for people to appreciate."
