That's exactly what East Jefferson General Hospital did when it opened the East Jefferson Imaging Center (EJIC) in 2009. Located at the I-10 West Service Road and Clearview Parkway, EJIC offers same-day appointments for a full range of radiology services, including high-field open MRI, 64-slice CT, ultrasound and plain films. With rapid report turn around, the images and results are available online through the EJ MD Portal and Compas applications shortly after exam completion in most cases. Study interpretation by the subspecialized, board-certified radiologists of Radiology and Interventional Associates of Metairie (RIAM), who have access to patients' prior imaging studies from the main EJGH campus via PACS, results in high quality reports, designed to answer the clinical questions at hand.

Patients enjoy the friendly, neighborhood atmosphere of the EJIC, as well as the convenience. "Finding parking at the hospital, navigating through the registration process and ending up in the right area can be a daunting prospect for some patients, particularly our senior citizens. EJIC provides access to hospital-quality radiology services, without the inconvenience of parking garages and extended wait times," explains EJIC Medical Director, Dr. Rafael Figueroa.
