Medical Nutrition Therapy

Nutrition intervention is a key component in the treatment of many chronic diseases. Our experienced outpatient team of Licensed, Registered Dietitians provides individualized nutrition plans to assist patients in controlling disease symptoms and improving overall health. The Outpatient Nutrition Services Team has expertise in the following areas:

Our professional staff has acquired many specialty certifications, including Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), Certified Lifestyle Counselor (CLS), Certified Personal Trainer, and certification in Adult Weight Management.

Payment Options

Many insurance companies will cover all or part of outpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy for disease management, including Medicare Part B (Medicare coverage limited to diabetes and kidney disease).

A physician referral is required for Medical Nutrition Therapy. We can assist you in obtaining a referral, if necessary.

Fees are $92 for a one-hour consultation and $46 for a half-hour consultation. Feel free to contact us for more information.

Wellness Center Nutritional Counseling

Nutritional Counseling Services are also available through the EJGH Wellness Center for individuals interested in any of the following topics:

• Weight loss and management
• Nutrition for health maintenance
• Fitness and sports nutrition
• Disease prevention

Inpatient Nutrition Care

Our highly qualified licensed, Registered Dietitians provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art nutrition care to hospital patients with special nutrition needs and those requiring specialized nutrition support. The following services are available based on individual patient need and in consultation with physicians:

• Nutrition Assessment and Reassessment
• Nutrition Consultation on Physician Request
• Basic Nutrition Education Prior to Discharge
• Post-Discharge Nutrition Care Follow-Up and Counseling
