R. Joseph Tamimie, M.D.,
FACOEM, Medical Director, graduated from the University of
Southern Illinois School of Medicine in 1979. He completed his internship
in internal medicine and surgery in 1980 at St. Lukes Hospital
in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and his residency in occupational and environmental
medicine at Kettering Laboratories in association with the University
of Cincinnati in 1983. He also completed a fellowship in toxicology
and occupational medicine at Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester,
New York in 1984. Dr. Tamimie has published papers and given presentations
based on his extensive research into the effects of chemical exposure
in the workplace and the prevention of on-the-job injuries.
Douglas A. Swift, M.D., MSPH, Co-Medical
Director, is a 1976 graduate of the Louisiana State University
School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed residencies at the
USPHS Hospital in New Orleans in 1979 in general surgery, at Louisiana
State University in 1980 in plastic surgery, and at the University
of California at San Francisco in 1982 in occupational medicine.
In 1984, Dr. Swift completed a Master of Public Health at the Tulane
University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. He has
authored papers and given presentations on toxicology and chemical
exposure, workplace back injuries, and injury prevention. He is
on the faculties of Tulane University and Louisiana State University
Schools of Medicine. He is a consultant to the Louisiana Poison
Control Center on occupational and environmental toxicology.
