Two Occupational Medicine Clinics, conveniently located in Metairie
and Kenner, provide comprehensive healthcare services for your workforce,
including preventative care and education, screening and surveillance
exams, substance abuse screenings, and the treatment and management
of work-related injuries and illnesses. All care is provided under
the direction of board-certified Occupational Medicine Physicians.
OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE PHYSICIANS
Medical Directors Joseph Tamimie, M.D.,
and Douglas Swift, M.D., are board-certified
in Occupational Medicine and together have over 50 years experience
in the field. They work closely with hundreds of companies and plants
throughout the New Orleans metro area with a focus on prevention
and education programs, OSHA medical surveillance compliance, and
the treatment of work-related illness and injury. Their areas of
expertise include toxicology, emergency medicine, orthopedics, chemical
exposures and epidemiology as they relate to the work environment.
PHYSICALS
Physical exams, as part of your pre-placement protocol or upon return
to work after an injury or illness, help ensure that your employees
are physically able to perform required job duties. Physical exams
are an effective means of preventing injury and reducing healthcare
costs. Services include:

DRUG & ALCOHOL SCREENINGS
Screenings are an effective way to prevent injury and minimize property
loss and damage. The Occupational Medicine Clinics serve as collection
sites for various forms of testing and our Occupational Medicine
Physicians are certified as Medical Review Officers.
OSHA-MANDATED SURVEILLANCE
Worksite evaluations and screenings increase job safety and reduce
the risk of lifelong injury to your employees. All surveillance
programs offered by our Occupational Medicine Clinics comply with
OSHA standards and regulations. Services include:
- Hazardous substances, including lead, benzene and asbestos
- Hearing conservation
- Respirator clearance
WORKERS' COMPENSATION
Our Occupational Medicine Physicians and their staff provide diagnosis
and effective treatment for work-related injury and illness. They
are also experts at dealing with legal matters that arise from workplace
injuries. Services include:

The EJGH Emergency Department provides 24-hour medical care for
all life-threatening emergencies. The department is also available
to treat injury and illness on weekends, holidays and during evening
hours.
